Plenty Blue At Night (Mr Good And Plenty X Midnight Nightmare)
I love this mare that I imported from Wisconsin in November 2013. She has everything I want in a broodmare. First of all, look at her pedigree. She is by Superior Western Pleasure stallion, Mr Good And Plenty who is by leading sire, Zippos Mr Good Bar. She is out of Midnight Nightmare, who has points in Western Pleasure, and then went on to produce multiple point earning offspring with both Superiors and ROMs.
Next, Skye is pretty and has very correct performance conformation. She is a fabulous mover with a good jog and a great lope. (You can see her move in a short video clip below). More than that - Skye is quiet, gentle, kind and people orientated, and passes those traits on to her foals.
Skye is a true blue roan. She is registered as an SPB, but DNA testing shows that she carries the frame overo gene, which she has passed on to several foals. She has a wide blaze and one white sock. Over half her foals have inherited her roan gene.
DNA testing shows that Skye is 5 panel negative - so will not pass on HYPP, HERDA, PSSM1, GBED or MH.
Skye's has several offspring showing with ROMs in Western pleasure, and points in showmanship, horsemanship and equitation also earned. Her foals tend to be super quiet and suitable for youth.

Below is a video clip of Skye, taken the summer of 2013 with her former owner. Please forgive the video quality; it was taken by the owner's nine year old daughter while she petted a pair of friendly goats! Hence the fact that the video tips and leans a few times. But if nothing else you can see that Skye is flat kneed, slow legged and uses her hocks well.
